About the author

Effrosyni Moschoudi was born and raised in Athens, Greece. As a child, she loved to sit alone in her garden scribbling rhymes about flowers, butterflies and ants. Today, she writes books for the romantic at heart. She lives in a quaint seaside town near Athens with a British husband, two naughty cats, and a staggering amount of books and DVDs. Her little town is heavenly enough, yet her mind forever drifts to her beloved island of Corfu.
The Ebb, her new adult romance that was inspired from her summers in Corfu in the 1980s, is an ABNA Q-Finalist. Her debut novel, The Necklace of Goddess Athena, won a silver medal in the 2017 book awards of Readers' Favorite. Her ghost romance novella, The Boy on the Bridge, was a Top 10 winner in the “50 Best Indie Books” awards of Readfree.ly in 2021.
Effrosyni’s books are sweet romances (low heat and no sex scenes). Running Haunted, My Corfu Love Story, and The Necklace of Goddess Athena are clean & wholesome. All the books are Amazon bestsellers, having hit #1 several times, and are available in kindle and paperback format.

I enjoyed the story as it was different! All of the elements I had mentioned above are woven into a wonderful story that had me hating to see its end! As Phevos and his father believed there are no coincidences, things happen for a reason if you are aware of all the signs! Even when tragedy strikes, we are reminded there is something to come from it if we are open to it...
Ms Moschoudi paints a very vivid Athens in two different times: ancient Greece and modern Greece. She also has very vivid, lively characters with whom it is easy to love them and care about what happens to them! She also shows us how the gods and goddesses of mythology were viewed then and today. Again, she has a story than has all the elements to make you fall in love with it! I was so engrossed in the book that I read way past my bedtime as there was never a good place to stop! Just one more chapter...!
I very much enjoyed this book, and I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes stories that have a little bit of everything and a whole lot of heart! I would definitely love to read more from this author!
Strong family bonds, reflecting in so many ways through life stories of children (albeit left orphans); sacrifices made by mothers for the well-being of their offspring, or simply to be able to make a living by working impossibly long hours; grandmothers rising to the challenge of catering for youngsters at the end of a long life.
Love is found aplenty in "The Necklace of Goddess Athena", Love declined in so many variations, as in soul mates type of love or a kind fate brought by destiny.
Found also is the story of the gods Athena and Poseidon, making this book a story of Faith, living faith, not the religious faith pictured in our century by organized religions inducing heretic wars. Faith that could be called "organic faith" more than religious propaganda.
But there is discordance, jealousy between Athena and Poseidon for the right to protect humans, and such a protective stand bordering on infringement of the free will of same humans.
In the end, when summarizing the jealous possessivity of these two great gods, we realize their quarrels were deceits, misunderstandings, hot temper unfortunately wrecking havoc on those they wanted to protect in the first place. They manage to apologize to each other, forgive and forget, and make it up to those they have hurt: the innocent families torn apart.
A modern fairy tale? Yes, yes and Yes. In which love, courage, virtue, faith are rewarded.
This book is the stuff dreams are made of, hope springs forth, and prayers raised to the heavens to gods loving us as to protect us forevermore.
“Man was made of flesh and bone on purpose! Time is his prison but also his best friend. He cannot make sense of his feelings, his accomplishments or his losses without it.” (Page 327)
If you’re in the mood for adventure, fantasy, mystery and Greek myths, I recommend author Effrosyni Moschoudi’s novel The Necklace of Goddess Athena: A New Adult Supernatural Mystery, which has elements of all these genres blended in. The result is a page-turning book with characters and situations which can stir the interest and imagination of readers of all ages who love Greek myths retellings or placed at the threshold of two very different worlds.
Time travelling siblings Phevos and Daphne are sent by their father, Efimios, on a mysterious journey which takes them from ancient times to modern-day Athens and the only rule they have to obey is to follow the signs Athena will send them. After they land in an orchard, Phevos and Daphne meet its owners, two other siblings, Ksenia and Manos, who will befriend them, due to the coincidental loss of their parents in the same period as Efimios’ wife. Do Phevos, Daphne, Ksenia and Manos have to unknowingly go on the same path to seek the truth about their parents? What secrets will surface from the past and how will they affect the children’s lives? Only by reading the book you will find out.

This is a book to read again.

It's nice to read a book that takes the reader back to a time where people did their best to help each other without question. Ms Moschoudi excels in her descriptions of the story's locations and the fantasy element gives the novel that extra sense of adventure. A great summer read.
